King Naj recently released his City Sessions video shot by IvanShoots, for his single “Taigastyle”. King Naj has been on a solid run of releases since his album While You Wait dropped in 2022. Along with his Blue Diamond Mafia Records family, King Naj has been releasing music, cool visuals, and rising to the occasion in the live performance scene.
The City Sessions are a collection of on the spot, one mic performances similar to the recently covered “From the Block” series. King Naj’s “Taigastyle” is set with a bright, Seattle backdrop, as he delivers an intrapersonal freestyle, garnishing a smooth Neo jazz instrumental. A classic display of poise, lyricism, and honesty from the lyricist pairs cleanly with the soothing production.
Here’s an example of King Naj hitting us with some clever word play and a few slick double entendres:
“Man I’m bashful/my word on pages, call me satchel/my mom used to tell me all the time ima handful/handsome I got dreads, but catch me with a fade/you’ll probably hear some young ladies screaming out my name/so state your business before you link with me/give you pleasure like P or like Haley give you misery”. I’m continuously impressed by King Naj’s increasingly fluent pen and confident presence on any track.
Stay tuned as King Naj releases new music fairly consistently and has a handful of performances in the works this summer. Check out the City Sessions “Taigastyle” video below.
