Secret Guest Close Out Decade with Release of Seminal Live Album

After stunning the world in November with lead single “Classic Banter” and a begrudged reunion at Extra Chill Fest, Secret Guest closes out the decade with the release of their long-awaited live album, Live. As the title suggests, Live was recorded live at The Royal American over two nights in June of 2018, a weekend that was billed as a farewell to Secret Guest. It’s a true Secret Guest move to promise the album before the end of the year and then release it on the very last day, and so of course that’s what they did.

Live is everything that fans love about Secret Guest wrapped up into one 18-track album. It’s got the ridiculous Andrei shenanigans, distorted guitars, and the energy of a drunken rowdy crowd. There are also a few secret guests on the album including Dylan Dickerson, Joshua Jay, Goodberry Jensen, Hunter Park, and Matthew Wentz.

It’s a Secret Guest concert that you can carry around with you. That’s good because there won’t be any more Secret Guest concerts. Unless you count Shovels & The Blowfish, which contains the members of Secret Guest, who will perform the music of Secret Guest at a house show this weekend.

I’m gonna go ahead and say it: Secret Guest is Extra Chill’s Band of the Decade. This is also the last Extra Chill post of the decade. Peace!
