Kendall Street Company – “The Fool On The Hill” (Beatles Cover)

Kendall Street Company released a cover of the Beatles’ “The Fool On The Hill” last week following their Wednesday night performance at Charleston Pour House. The Charlottesville, VA-based jam band explained that they are trying to make the Beatles a household name, and this is just one small step in bringing awareness to the excellent, often overlooked 1960s act.

This track comes from the Beatles 1967 album Magical Mystery Tour, and was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Kendall Street Company perform the song with a folk rock arrangement that includes acoustic guitar in place of the Beatles’ prominent piano intro, and of course, a trippy jam in the outro to make it their own.

Kendall Street Company’s cover “The Fool On The Hill” pairs with another Beatles cover they did last year, “Rocky Raccoon”. They said they plan to release one Beatles cover per year “until they die” (plus two new albums of originals this year).

Also check out their recent single, “Lost Together”, released earlier this year.

The band returns to the Charleston Pour House on Thursday, April 20th to host a “Champagne & Reefer Party” that is bound to be filled with good times and surprises. Tickets and more info here.
