Pierce Alexander – “Midnight Walk”

Pierce Alexander released a new single, “Midnight Walk,” on Friday. It’s the artist’s first release since his debut album, The Minutehand, which dropped earlier this year.

“Midnight Walk” is a track that, according to Alexander, “​Opens up a window into the life of a narrator who is attempting to pick up the pieces of a broken marriage.” This concept is evident through the repetition of lines like “It feels like I don’t know you anymore.”

Sonically, “Midnight Walk” has a fuzzed-out, bedroom pop quality that melds flawlessly with the melancholy theme of the track. Alexander’s vocals have an almost downtrodden inflection, and a slide guitar emphasizes the emotion.
