CrucialBGR – “Takeoff! (F*ck Rap)” (Video)

Charleston rapper CrucialBGR has just released the video for “Takeoff! (F*ck Rap)”, the opening track off his 2020 album BigBad3!, which came in at number three on our best South Carolina albums of 2020 list. The track kicks off the album with Crucial calling every rapper and person working in the hip-hop industry “WEIRD”, and explaining how his crew is different, because three times three is six. Then the beat kicks in and he starts rapping about what else makes him different.

This music video is the first release to come from CrucialBGR in 2021 so far, but he’s been teasing a few more that are still behind the scenes. The video was shot and edited by Ephraim Adams, who also made the video for CrucialBGR’s October single “No Words For The Chorus”. Both videos have a casual, retro style that I think is fitting for the loose music that CrucialBGR makes.
