Clayton James – “Keanu Reeves”

Earlier this week, Clayton James released a Soundcloud exclusive new single called “Keanu Reeves”. The track laments on how life doesn’t seem to cooperate when you’re trying to grow up and figure it out, so naturally you just resort to getting messed up and trying to forget about it. This is rapped over a beat that I’m really digging; laced with guitar and sparkling keys in the background, with a tempo that is nice and slow.

According to Clayton, this single is just to hold the people over until his next project drops. He is starting to record with his new band Late Night Memo, where he plays bass and raps. They’re out at The Lab on Johns Island with the homie Matt Tuton. Tuton always shines with hip-hop production so I look forward to hearing what comes next.
