Upcoming Shows at Hed Hi Studio Feature Local & Regional Visual Artists

If you haven’t yet had a chance to check out Hed Hi Studio, the King Street gallery/studio with the so-called “brightest walls in the city,” you’re in luck: they’re putting on two shows that we’re excited about, “The Last Beach” and “Continua,” next month.

The Last Beach – Saturday, April 1st

On Saturday, April 1st, the studio will feature “The Last Beach,” a exhibition showcasing the work of Colleen Terrell Comer.

Comer, a visual artist based out of Mobile, Alabama, is a Redux Contemporary Art Center alum and creates paintings and sculptures that examine the contradictions of day-to-day life as a woman, influenced by the coastal climates in which the artist has lived and worked. The show will be from 6-10pm.

Continua – Friday, April 28th

On Friday, April 28th, Hed Hi will close out with month with “Continua,” a show featuring two talented local artists, Jonathan Rypkema and Adam Eddy.

Rypkema is a sculptural artist who uses found materials to create architecturally-minded sculptural pieces. Eddy uses paper, paint, and screens to fashion contemplative color studies. Together, the artists’ work will form a visual discussion of form and function. You can catch the show from 6-10pm.

The two events will serve as thoughtful, immersive experiences to bookend the month of April. Both shows are free. Hed Hi Studio is located at 654 King Street, Suite D. Check out their website for more info.
