Marcus King – “Lie Lie Lie” (Video)

Marcus King released a new single, “Lie Lie Lie,” on Thursday. It follows “Rescue Me” as the latest track from his upcoming album Young Blood and also features a live video shot at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio. 

“She’s a wild one / Never had a mild tongue / Gypsy child yeah / She always gets the job done” King croons right off the bat, setting the scene for a smokeshow of a song. The guitar riffs are thoroughly classic, calling to mind Led Zeppelin’s “Heartbreaker.” High octane drumming rounds out the sound. 

“Lie Lie Lie” tells a familiar and relatable tale of being seduced and betrayed by a ruthless lover. “Don’t you know what I mean?” King cries out in his smoldering voice. The track is satisfying blues rock from start to finish.
