The Simplicity – “DAHLIN'”

Charleston three-piece rock band The Simplicity have unveiled a new single called “DAHLIN'”, the title track to their upcoming debut album. It follows the first single, “LAUGHTER”, which was released back in July. DAHLIN’ was recorded at The Space with Wolfgang Zimmerman, and mastered by Andrew Halley (a.k.a. JD Moon).

“DAHLIN'” is raw and raging garage rock with a nostalgic energy and plenty of fuzz. I’ve always liked John Bias, and have written about his music for years now. That being said, I honestly think this new material he’s working with is his best stuff yet.

He and the band, which is Bias on guitar along with Tommy Merritt on bass and Drew Lewis on drums, are clearly having a lot of fun and that comes across in both the recording and the live show. I attended the first night of their two night stand at The Royal American earlier this month and they crushed it. The new stuff really packs a punch and the crowd was loving it.

Listen to “DAHLIN'” by The Simplicity below, and stay tuned for more from the new record.
