Doom Flamingo – “& Ready to Mingle”

We’re coming up on a full year without actual concerts now, and I think we’re all feeling the pain of that. Especially with the wave of winter weather that has taken over much of the country in recent days, a little bit of unbridled freedom would be fantastic. Charleston synthwave project Doom Flamingo delivers a bit of that freedom, or at least a feeling of freedom today with their upbeat new single “& Ready to Mingle”, a disco-esque beacon of hope for all of us who are eagerly awaiting the return of live music as we once knew it.

“This song to me is a little beacon of hope that we’ll be pushing our way through a crowd again sometime in the near future,” says keyboardist Ross Bogan. “Lord knows we’re all ready at this point. We’ve got a lot of catching up to do, bring on the roaring 20’s 2.0 A lot of lonely disco balls out there, here’s our bat signal.”

“& Ready to Mingle” is the first release from Doom Flamingo in 2021, following the release of the DOOM EP in 2020. The track was recorded and produced by Matt Zutell at Coast Records here in Charleston.
