Leone – “Josephine” (Video)

Back in February, Rock Hill’s Leone released a funky, nostalgic, soul-driven EP called Angst that solidified him as one of South Carolina’s most promising up-and-coming acts. Now, Leone has released a music video for “Josephine”, a track from the EP with a beat and a vibe that compels a comparison to the late Michael Jackson. The video, which was created by DaRemen J. and Terry Suave of Dreamstudios and filmed entirely in Charlotte, NC, depicts Leone dealing with emotions attached to a woman that he’s pining over, but who seems to disappear whenever he’s around.

With the “Josephine” video, Leone continues to make a name for himself as a unique contender in the world of South Carolina music. There is nothing like the music he’s making coming out of Rock Hill or the rest of the state right now. According to a recent press release, the video is modeled after late 80’s/early 90’s R&B music videos such as “Nite and Day” by Al B. Sure! and “Can We Talk” by Tevin Campbell. It’s filled with nostalgia and summertime vibes that will make you want to get up and dance.

Leone is currently planning a tour that will take him throughout the Southeast. Tour dates will be announced soon, which hopefully means that Leone will be making a stop through Charleston later this year. Stay tuned for that announcement, and check out the video for “Josephine” below.
