She Returns From War Announces New Album Ruthless, Drops Single “Edgefield”
She Returns From War has released the third single, “Edgefield” from her sophomore album Ruthless, due out November 10th, 2023. The album’s title was initially shared by bandleader and songwriter Hunter Park on stage at High Water Festival in April, but has been kept quiet ever since.
Now, under a month from the album entering the world, both the album title and release date have been officially revealed, putting the cherry on top of a monumental year for She Returns From War.
This year not only included an incredible performance at High Water, but also a fantastic co-headline at Extra Chill Fest and a number of festival appearances around the country.
The new single “Edgefield” has the most accessible country twang that we’ve heard from this album thus far. There’s a hint of wistful nostalgia as Hunter muses about chasing her dreams as a songwriter, and memories associated with that.
“This song is about how much I miss my friends and family when I’m not in Nashville,” Hunter explains. “Watching your friends’ lives and how they handle the hard curves can inspire you to keep doing what you know you were meant to do.”
This fall, leading to the album release, She Returns From War will join Erin Rae for a handful of midwest and southeast dates, then hop on with S.G. Goodman for a trio of shows, including one more hometown show at Charleston Pour House.
