1770 Records Boat Show Returns to the Charleston Princess This Friday Night

This Friday night, the College of Charleston’s 1770 Records brings back their annual boat show for the first time since 2019. Five Charleston artists will perform aboard the Charleston Princess during a 3-hour cruise around the harbor. Boarding is at the Charleston Maritime Center at 5:30pm and the cruise departs at 6pm sharp.

Artists performing include Savant, Sounds of Blackfox, Newgrounds Death Rugby, tree limbs, and Dawning.

Savant is College of Charleston student with a heart for songwriting and the voice to back it up. She likes to refer to her performances as “open heart surgery.” Savant is one Charleston’s best kept secrets. She’s also one of the organizers for the event (a member of 1770 Records).

Sounds of Blackfox play rock and roll with their soul by entwining addicting bass lines with impassioned vocal performances. Fans of Bendigo Fletcher as well Deadheads will feel right at home with Sounds of Blackfox.

Newgrounds Death Rugby are a quirky band whose songwriting boasts a witty and tongue in cheek personality. Their sounds take inspiration from a variety of genres from folk to noise rock which makes for their super unique style.

tree limbs are a local band that’ll strike a chord with lovers of Mac DeMarco, Yawner., and of course, E.S.S. (a derivative act from which they will certainly be playing songs of). With their jangly guitar lines soaked in chorus, tree limbs are ready to satisfy your indie rock sweet tooth.

There’s nothing like a Dawning show! Captain Jackson Wise is excited to put on a killer show for you as we cruise around the harbor. It’s worth mentioning that this is Dawning’s second to last performance!

Tickets to the boat show are $30 and available here.
