R Dotta Releases New Album I Don’t Have Rivals.

R Dotta dropped a new album, I Don’t Have Rivals., on August 9th. It’s the rapper’s first release since his EP Season 2, which came out in September of 2021.

The 8-song project has a big, bold sound that’s peppered with pensiveness. I Don’t Have Rivals. opens with “Ma Dotta’s Intro,” a sample from a conversation between R Dotta and, presumably, his mother. The next track, “RIP E,” takes the listener straight into the of fire with intense rapping that will continue in various forms throughout the album.

The sounds that accent R Dotta’s precise line delivery include various synth and keyboard riffs and deeps beats. At points, the production on I Don’t Have Rivals. plays with retro effects, one example being the dreamy background sounds in “Where’s Da Weed – Interlude.”

The album also explores the romantic, with lines like “I did the math / It all equals out girl / That you’re my better half” in track “Moon & Stars.”

I Don’t Have Rivals is a welcome set of fresh songs and serves as a demonstration of R Dotta’s ability to turn out high-powered rap tracks. Stream the album below.
