Semkari – “Over” ft. Jarrid King (Video)

Charleston rapper Semkari just dropped a new single called “Over”, featuring Jarrid King. The Valentines Day heartbreak special was released this morning along with a glitchy video shot by 8Tapes and directed by King himself. Semkari’s music is interesting, for one because he often makes quirky references that you don’t normally hear in hip-hop music. Such as the Green Day reference that he opens with here, or later when he compares his love interest to Amanda Bynes. Even with the quirky references, there is a lot of underlying pain and regret evident here. Semkari just finds a way to say it that appeals to the nerdy kid in all of us.
