Human Resources and Arson Daily to Play at The Royal American

Human Resources have just announced their first headlining show in Charleston in over a year. On Friday, March 20th, they’ll take the stage at The Royal American, with support from Arson Daily out of Raleigh. The last time Human Resources played in Charleston, it was when they opened for Drivin N Cryin at the Charleston Music Hall on the day after Thanksgiving. But it’s been a long time since they’ve played at The Royal American, and I know I don’t have to remind anybody that this is going to be a fun show.

Human Resources have been pretty quiet in general since the release of Champagne in 2018, only playing a handful of shows around town, and a few short runs out of town. In 2019, they did release a three-song live EP that they recorded at Coast Records, the studio that’s operated by their drummer, Matt Zutell. That EP had a cool cover of “Mom Jeans” by Heyrocco, and live-in-studio renditions of two songs from Champagne. They haven’t released any new, original material since Champagne, though, and it’s about time they change that.

The word is that Human Resources have been in the studio, and will release something new within the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

Opener Arson Daily is also gearing up to release new music next month, a full-length album titled Late Reflections. This new record is looking good from the singles released so far: “Pipe Dream” and “Signs”. You might have seen them at Royal in the past with bands like Rare Creatures and Keon Masters. They’ve always hit with the crowd, and make for a solid addition to the bill.

Tickets are $10 at the door. Facebook event here.
