Never Better – “Scars” (Live at Coast Records)

This morning we’re excited to debut another live session from Coast Records, this time featuring Charleston’s Never Better performing an as-yet unreleased track called “Scars”. For this video, Never Better went into Coast Records with a bottle of tequila and hung a bunch of black and white yarn from the ceiling. They then proceeded to rock out.

“Scars” starts out fairly slow and subdued, but very quickly builds into a cathartic break that continues through the second part of the song. It might have been the tequila, or it might have been Zutell’s engineering (or both), but frontman DJ Edwards’ screaming vocals sound pretty awesome. Dries Vandenberg of Practical Effect captured the whole thing on video.

Never Better has just announced a show at Tin Roof that features a super diverse lineup, taking place on Saturday, November 23rd. The lineup includes Never Better along with Greenville americana project Mourning Dove, and Charleston rap project Scene Jesus (formerly known as DD Allin, and living up to the name). Facebook event here.
