1770 Records to Host 6th Annual Boat Show on Carolina Queen

The College of Charleston’s student-run record label, 1770 Records, is gearing up to host their annual boat show on Saturday, November 10th. For the uninitiated: the 1770 Records boat show is basically a 3-hour cruise around scenic Charleston harbor, with local musicians playing back-to-back sets and plenty of booze available for purchase at the bar. This is the 6th year in a row that 1770 Records has hosted this event, and it has sold out every year.

The 2018 1770 Records boat show will feature performances from Abstract (who also played at Extra Chill Fest), Eighty Seven Nights, Easy Honey, Orange Doors, and Cry Baby. That’s a ton of great up-and-coming local talent to pack into one evening.

In addition to hosting the boat show, 1770 Records is also gearing up for their vinyl debut, a full-length called Local Suspects. The record is a sampler of sorts, containing 10 tracks from local artists like Little Stranger, Speakerbox, Abstract, See Water, and Little Bird.

The boat show takes place aboard the Carolina Queen, a triple-decker riverboat that rests on the face dock at Charleston City Marina. Boarding begins at 6:30pm sharp, and the cruise departs at 7pm on the nose, returning at 10pm. Tickets are $25 for College of Charleston students, and $30 for non-students. Gets yours here.
