Premiere: Human Resources – “Sylvia” (Persona La Ave Remix)

It’s now been almost two years since Human Resources released their most recent full-length album, Champagne. The album’s lead single, “Sylvia”, was one of two tracks to result from the band’s Los Angeles recording sessions with Taylor Locke of Rooney. The song has racked up over 220k Spotify streams since its release, and it has lit up many a Royal American in the meantime.

Today, “Sylvia” gets a remix.

Human Resources have linked up with Dylan Dawkins, a.k.a. Persona La Ave, to remix the track. Dylan’s remix slows down the tempo, and runs the dance floor pop that HR created through his own chilled-out electronic vibe. The result is a trippier, groovier version of “Sylvia” that is made for the late-night dance floor.

“Dylan brings a style to the Charleston scene that is a little outside of its mold. We definitely relate to that,” says HR’s Aaron Utterback. “We also relate in embracing the internet to reach out to people. It was a pretty natural collaboration and I hope there will be more to come soon.”

Persona La Ave also created a lyric video for the “Sylvia” remix, in his signature VHS style. You might have seen Dylan’s work in Doom Flamingo’s newest lyric video for single “Somebody”, or even in some Extra Chill Fest promo.
