Beach Tiger – “It Only Lasts So Long”

This morning, Charleston synth-pop band Beach Tiger released an original Christmas tune called “It Only Lasts So Long”. According to the band’s recent Instagram post, the tune was born when Beach Tiger bassist Mick Matricciano came to frontman Taylor McClesky with a piano part “that felt undeniably Christmas-like”. They got to work right away, and the warm, laid-back “It Only Lasts So Long” is the result.

Beach Tiger’s return from hiatus was one pleasant surprise to come in early 2019, when the new EP Easy Livin’ Dreamin’ dropped. The end of 2019 has Taylor moving from Charleston to Greenville, but Beach Tiger lives on. Word on the street is Taylor’s been working with Matt Zutell at Coast Records on what will become the next Beach Tiger record. Stay tuned for more news on that in 2020.
