Stop Light Observations at The Royal American (Photos)

Photo: Alex Wiley

You might find this hard to believe, but when Stop Light Observations played at The Royal American last Wednesday, March 20th, it was their first time playing in that room. Some members of the band had played there with separate projects, but never before had Stop Light climbed on that small stage as a full band. They did play in the parking lot last summer for the Box in the Morning tribute show (RIP), but the parking lot experience is much different than what you get from a show inside the bar itself.

The reason that they had never played inside Royal before last week is that they were already too popular to play there by the time Royal became established as a venue (they have sold out the Music Farm several times). To get around this, they announced the show one week out and billed it as a surprise. Not surprisingly, the show was still packed, even with the short notice.

Alex Wiley was in the mix with her camera that night to capture the experience, and you can view a gallery of her photos below. Follow Alex on Instagram @coyotephotoandfilm.
