Never Better – “Be Here” (Video)

This morning, the new Charleston rock band Never Better released an animated music video for their most recent single, “Be Here”, which originally appeared on a split with Short Division. This is the second animated video to come from Never Better, the first being for the debut single “Mind” that was released back in April. Both videos were hand-drawn by Never Better frontman and songwriter, DJ Edwards.

The “Be Here” video is animated to reconstruct the downtown Charleston home where the song was written, and features DJ’s now-signature black and white art style. The lyrics are displayed in a hand-drawn font that DJ designed himself, and is a result of hours of painstaking effort on his part. This is a sign of much more to come from Never Better and DJ, whose math brain has crafted detailed plans for this band stretching far into the future, with many more songs and videos to be released in the coming months.

Never Better has a show coming up on Saturday, August 24th at the Music Farm, where they’ll be joined by Charleston’s Community Pool and The Long Con out of Columbia. The show is all-ages, and only $5 in advance, with a jump to $7 at the door. Tickets and Facebook event here.
