Cry Baby – “Just Friends”

After teasing their new single on Instagram all week, Charleston’s Cry Baby released “Just Friends” this morning. This one follows their two late-2018 releases, “Energy” and “Boyfriend”, and goes to show just how versatile this band is. While “Energy” and “Boyfriend” were rooted in funk, “Just Friends” shows them testing out their R&B chops. Cry Baby is possibly the most entertaining band to pop up in Charleston since 2 Slices, and I’m just waiting for the day when they end up on a bill together.

Like their other two singles, Cry Baby recorded this one themselves, with a collaborative effort from the entire band on production. Once the mix was ready they sent it off to Matthew Garber at For The Record to master the track.

Listen to “Just Friends” by Cry Baby below, and watch out for more from them coming soon. The band says they’re going to keep pumping them out. They also said “RnB’s not dead.” I never thought it was dead, but I’m glad to see them playing a part in keeping it alive.
