SUSTO Announce New Album, Release “Homeboy”

This morning, our friends in SUSTO released “Homeboy”, the first single off their upcoming third album Ever Since I Lost My Mind. With the single also came the official album release date announcement, which is Friday, February 22nd. The album will be released on Rounder Records, with whom SUSTO signed a deal with earlier this year. Pre-orders for the new album are live at sustoisreal.com.

The new single has significantly more grunge to it than we’ve heard on any of SUSTO’s previous releases. It leads me to believe that the new album will dive deeper into the realm of rock ‘n’ roll, which we are always in support of here at Extra Chill.

SUSTO has undergone a few lineup changes since the release of & I’m Fine Today back in 2017. Just before the album’s release, Johnny Delaware left the band to pursue a future with his band The Artisanals, and was replaced by Dries Vandenberg of Human Resources on guitar. Now bassist Jenna Desmond and keyboardist Corey Campbell have left the band to chase their dreams with Babe Club, and they’ve been replaced by Jordan Igoe and Jordan Hicks. I look forward to seeing how these changes are reflected in the live set, but we’ll just have to wait for the Ever Since I Lost My Mind tour for that.

Justin is currently out on tour with Jordan Igoe, doing stripped down versions of SUSTO songs around the Southeast. The SUSTO Stories Tour comes home to Charleston on Thursday, December 13th at Woolfe St. Playhouse. The first set is sold out, but there are still tickets available for the second show. Get yours here.
