In the words of comedian Aaron Weber, “Lettuce is fucking awesome!” But this is no joke, they are an incredible group of artists known for putting on a high-energy, funky, rhythmic show that transcends both genres and generations.
Friday, October 17th, was no different. Lettuce brought their Cook World Tour to The Refinery in Charleston, SC and did what they do best: bring people of all ages together to vibe out. The group jammed for almost three hours straight, with frontman Nigel Hall hitting notes that would make even legends like James Brown proud, and the whole band locked in together with the crowd.
Perhaps the best thing about Lettuce is that while styles of music and tone may stem from particular generations, love of music has no age and serves as a common ground that brings people together.
Lettuce brought a diverse crowd of smiling faces to The Refinery on Friday night, allowing all of us to set aside our differences and just groove together. The Refinery became a portal into the heart of funk, brilliantly reimagined for the modern audience.
