Easy Honey – “Spells” (Live at Charleston Pour House)

Easy Honey released a special live video of their latest single, “Spells,” on Friday. The video was shot at Daydreams, the band’s sold-out show at the Charleston Pour House earlier this year. It was filmed and edited by Grant Matthews.

“Spells” is driven by the melding of two guitars: one steady, the other soaring and melodic. This live version includes a sprinkling of keys, adding dynamic balance, while even drumming anchors the track. 

The vocals are rendered tenderly in “Spells,” and Selby Austin and Darby McGlone’s harmonies create a uniform sound that finds impact in its cohesion, rather than contrast. It’s a fitting delivery for lines like “This loving life that we have may be the only thing / That’s worth living.”
