Ray DeeZy and D Money Tha Carolina Boss Release Retro-Mania

Charleston rappers Ray DeeZy and D Money Tha Carolina Boss, the hip-hop duo also known as Keep It Gullah, released a new album, Retro-Mania, this week. It’s DeeZy’s first album drop since 2020’s The Getaway.

The 9-song project clocks in at a cool sixteen minutes, meaning each track is brisk and lively. It has a nostalgic, at-times humorous spirit, paying homage to hip-hop of the 80s and 90s. Retro-Mania also contains references to WWE culture (as the name suggests), sampling plenty of voice clips from actual moments in wrestling history.

Despite it’s throwback energy, Retro-Mania maintains the fresh spirit that both rappers exemplify. The album was produced by Ray DeeZy, recorded and mixed by Wolfgang Zimmerman, and mastered by JD Moon
