This morning, Whitehall released “Stimulants”, the second single off their just-announced full-length debut album Ocean Fiction coming October 12th. “Stimulants” is an energetic remark on the attachment of today’s youth to external stimulation and distractions. It’s an ironic, self-aware recognition of the ever-present role of stimulants in our daily lives, but instead of encouraging listeners to disconnect, Whitehall is using “Stimulants” to keep on rolling through it all.
“Stimulants” follows the March release of “Vacation Home”, the first single off Ocean Fiction that is currently sitting pretty at more than 130,000 Spotify plays. Whitehall has tapped into a fruitful vein with the direction they’re currently headed, and Ocean Fiction is looking like a more exciting release by the day.
Ocean Fiction is now available for digital and physical pre-order here. Listen to “Stimulants” below, and check out a mock-up of that sexy white vinyl below that.
