Whitehall – “Vacation Home”

To top off their successful Spring Break Tour around the Southeast, Charleston’s Whitehall released the first single off their upcoming album. The single came after a few hints dropped on the band’s Instagram about “new Whitehall things” that were on the horizon.

“Vacation Home” was recorded with Wolfgang Zimmerman (Band of Horses, SUSTO, She Returns From War etc.) down at Rialto Row. Wolfgang has been pumping gold out of his studio ever since it opened less than a year ago, and this new Whitehall song is another one for the books.

You may have heard some earlier versions of “Vacation Home” via WSBF Live Sessions, for whom Whitehall played this song on two separate occasions. The first was a solo session by frontman Paddy McKiernan, and then a later release of the full band playing the same song. They’ve also had “Vacation Home” in their live rotation for quite some time.

It’s great to see these guys growing so much over the past year. They’ve got a huge show coming up at the Music Farm this Saturday, March 31st with Public Safety (Charleston to Denver) and Daddy’s Beemer, whom you probably know fairly well if you’ve been around this blog over the past year or so.

Tickets to Whitehall’s hometown Music Farm bonanza are $10 and available here.
