The popular bluegrass & Billy Stings fan zine, Train Songz have launched the Train Songz Presents podcast. The podcast features an innovative and collaborative live music concept in which Train Songz curates artists to perform a one hour set of music that both begins and ends with a train song. The band records the set and Train Songz shares it via the podcast.
The first episode features the Minneapolis-based jamgrass band, Buffalo Galaxy, who Train Songz reports that they found via a clip of the group performing “Reuben’s Train” in Nashville.
Train Songz also recently released their fourth edition zine featuring a pay-what-you-want model (get your zine here), and will have a presence on Billy Strings lot this fall tour via volunteers who will hand them out. They also donated $2000 total in support of Hurricane Helene relief in Western NC, with $1000 going to the beloved venue Salvage Station, and $1000 to the Salamander Fund of the French Broad River Academy.
You can check out the first episode of Train Songz Presents below. I also started a topic in our forum where I will share the episodes as they are released. This is going to be a very cool way to discover new bluegrass bands. Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
