The rain held off just enough for Dropkick Murphys to host a spirited night of Celtic punk at Firefly Distillery on Sunday, March 9th, kicking off St. Patricks’ week with high energy for all the attendees. The night opened up with performances by Teenage Bottlerockets and The Menzingers.
The Boston band filled the Firefly field with their Irish influence, which included accordion, banjo, mandolin, and even bagpipes. The set consisted of some of their newer songs, along with nostalgic hits like “Rose Tattoo” and “Tessie”. The band ended the night with a fan favorite “I’m Shipping up to Boston”, to which the crowd went ecstatic at the first hint of the familiar riff.
