The Ritz in Raleigh was electric on April 11, 2025, as Denzel Curry’s “Mischievous South Tour” rolled into town. The venue was packed, with a line snaking around the building well before doors opened. The crowd skewed younger, buzzing with anticipation for a night of high-energy performances.

Clip opened the show, bringing a bold presence reminiscent of artists like Sexyy Red. While many in the audience seemed unfamiliar with her work, her confident delivery and contemporary sound set the tone for the evening.

Kenny Mason took the stage next, igniting the crowd with his dynamic performance. His collaboration with JID, “Stick,” resonated strongly, especially with Dreamville Festival having occurred just the week prior. Mason’s set was a standout, showcasing his unique blend of rap and rock influences.

454, the Florida-based rapper, followed with an energetic set that kept the momentum going. Performing under dim lighting, he delivered a high-octane performance that had the crowd moving from start to finish. His style, described as “airy plugg” with a mix of nostalgia and innovation, added a unique flavor to the lineup.

When Denzel Curry finally emerged, the venue erupted. By the third song, “Walkin,” the crowd was in a frenzy, jumping and moshing despite the track’s laid-back vibe. The atmosphere was intense yet controlled, with only a minor incident where someone appeared to be dehydrated—handled swiftly without disrupting the show.

The night was characterized by relentless energy, circle pits, and a dark, immersive ambiance. Curry’s performance solidified his reputation as a commanding live artist, leaving the audience exhilarated and eager for more.
