Last Tuesday, August 27th, legendary heavy metal act Mudvayne dropped into Charleston for a rager at The Refinery. The group brought their signature hard-hitting, gnarled vocals and wild musical arrangements. Plus, their signature face paint and demonic costumes.

Mudvayne formed in 1996 and experienced their breakout around 2000 with the release of their full-length debut album, L.D. 50 (which means “lethal dose of a substance”). They ran strong until going on hiatus in 2010, and then made a big return in 2021 and have been touring every year since then.

The group played a selection of songs from each of their five albums, with the biggest chunk coming from that breakout debut. See the full setlist at setlist.fm. Mudvayne continue their tour in the U.S. through September before hopping the border to South America for some festival dates in October/November. Full tour dates at mudvayneofficial.com.
