Tennis Courts – “Am I Not Talking Enough”

Tennis Courts dropped a new single, “Am I Not Talking Enough,” on Friday. It’s the band’s most recent release since the 2022 EP Music for Movies + Television and the first song from their upcoming debut full-length album. 

“Am I Not Talking Enough” is a predominantly acoustic track that shows the band engaging in a softer, more intimate sound than previous releases. The song describes a person in reflection, engaged in a sort of meta introspection with the repeated line “Am I thinking too much / Am I not talking enough.”

About halfway through the track, instrumentation picks up, the guitar sounds reverberating with a mellow depth.

The lushness of the soundscape paired with the gentle, almost sleepy vocal delivery creates a kind of immediacy of emotion that forms a lasting impression.

“It’s a little bit different than anything we’ve done before and we’re so goddamn proud of it,” the band said on an Instagram post announcing the track.
