Yerning Whir Releases New EP, Home Alone

Yerning Whir, the eclectic outfit from Scott Dence (formerly of Dumb Doctors), dropped a new EP, Home Alone, on Saturday. The band celebrated the release with a show the same night at Royal American with Flippants and Chipper Bones.

Home Alone is a 5-song project that has an electric, alt-70s/80s, almost New Wave sound, but with a dose of shoegaze fuzziness. Two of the tunes, “Nice Time” and “Bolo Tie,” were released as singles earlier this month, and the remaining three, “Everybody Dance,” “Replica,” and “Home Alone,” are all reimagined versions of tracks the band released on previous EPs. The EP exudes a moody-yet-danceable duality that strikes a perfect balance.
