Lil Mexico – “Can’t Lose” ft. Lil Durk

Rapper Lil Mexico released a new single, “Can’t Lose,” last week. The track also features renowned Chicago-born hip-hop artist Lil Durk, who has collaborated with artists like Lil Baby and was featured on Drake’s 2020 song, “Laugh Now Cry Later.”

“Can’t Lose” begins with some light piano music and the spoken phrase “I be rapping about anything just to see if I can do it.” And do it he does, rapping about hard times and conflict on the streets. Notes skew higher occasionally throughout the track, using almost pop-sounding vocal characteristics to put heavier emphasis on certain lines. “I’m on drugs / I’m gonna tell the truth” and “I can’t lose no more,” the song repeats. Certain phrases in particular have a strong impact due to their relatability, like “Wasn’t at my lowest / But on my last / That check came just in time.”

“Can’t Lose” is Lil Mexico’s third single of the year and is a track that makes us excited to hear more from him in the coming months. Stream the new song below.
