Ivory Keys Releases New EP, Ain’t Much To Do

Charleston rapper Ivory Keys dropped a new EP, Ain’t Much To Do, this week. It’s a 6-song project that displays Keys’ strength for creating classic hip-hop tracks while also experimenting with a more eclectic sound.

Keys plays with words, rapping satisfying lines like “I can’t take your advice / cause I know you’re tasteless.” He also collaborates with artists Kirch and Sugar Shack on the tracks “Butterfly” and “Don’t Go,” respectively.

Some of the songs exhibit moments of downtempo electric background sound, with gentler vocals. Existential themes are examined throughout the EP,  and it also serves as an exploration of boredom and ennui, as is evidenced by the album title.

“I hate saying goodbye / I wish we had more time,” Keys sings in the last track, and we are left feeling the same way about the EP coming to a close.
