HIROW Releases New Album, Hell Is Empty, Vol. 2

Charleston-based recording artist and producer Jairo Peralta, known by his artist name of HIROW, released a new album last week, Hell Is Empty, Vol. 2. It’s an ambitious 13-song undertaking that serves as a follow-up to 2018’s Hell is Empty, Vol.1.

The album is an impressive addition to Charleston’s catalog of hip-hop projects, showing HIROW nimbly delivering slick rap lines. The tracks alternate between intense and energetic and mysterious and downtempo. Atmospheric electronic touches can be heard amidst a consistent beat.

HIROW’s lyrics feature clever innuendos and sexual references, but the overall tone is cerebral, skewing dark at times. Verses touch on themes of anxiety and negative thoughts, particularly on “FOUND,” a track for which the artist also released a music video earlier this year.

Hell Is Empty, Vol. 2 is an exciting release from an up-and-coming Charleston artist. Stream the album below.
