SUSTO Announce New Album Time in the Sun, Share Single “Get Down” (Video)

Yesterday, SUSTO surprised us with the announcement of their fourth studio album, Time in the Sun, which will enter the world on October 29th via New West Records. The announcement came along with the release of the album’s lead single, “Get Down”, along with a music video directed by Meg Ha (Babe Club, Beware of Dog Productions).

According to the interview that SUSTO’s Justin Osborne did with Spin for the “Get Down” premiere, the song may sound lighthearted and fun but actually references a dark time in Justin’s life. He explains how he had a close friend who was struggling with substance abuse issues, and was openly discussing suicide within a group of friends. Justin wanted to help his friend but was also dealing with some private issues of his own that made it difficult for him to support that friend.

“The song is like an anthem for finding those people in your life who are struggling like you, then overcoming those struggles together.” Justin explains. “That person could be a friend, a partner, a family member, or even a stranger. Sometimes we all just need a struggle buddy, and that’s basically what ‘Get Down’ is about.”

SUSTO will also go on tour in support of the new album, starting with a two-night stand at the Radio Room in Greenville later this month, and continuing through the end of the year. Charleston date is September 4th at The Windjammer.
