Whitehall – “New Hampshire” (Video)

Yesterday, Whitehall released the third single, “New Hampshire”, off their upcoming sophomore album Swordfish Catcher. The single was paired with a simple lyric video featuring the boys driving and jamming out to the song. “New Hampshire” follows the January release of “Capsize” and previously the October release of “Good Guy”. All three will appear on the new album, due out April 2nd via Common Ground.

I saw a post from Whitehall’s bassist Brennan Clark (who is also an occasional Extra Chill writer) that said “New Hampsire” is his favorite track off the new album. From what I’ve heard so far, I would have to agree with Brennan, I really like this song too. It rolls at a nice, slow pace, with some well-placed guitar melodies to keep things interesting. In the past I’ve criticized Whitehall for not recruiting a new saxophone player after the departure of Pat Magwood back in 2019, but it seems that Swordfish Catcher will prove that they don’t need no dang saxophone player after all.
