Black Nicholson – “Corner Store Cowboy”

Charleston’s emerging DIY star Black Nicholson keeps the momentum going with another new single, this one called “Corner Store Cowboy”. Ever since the fall of 2020 he has continued to impress us with just about one single released every month, with all instruments played himself and all recording done on his iPhone in his bedroom. “Corner Store Cowboy” catches a vibe with a mellow guitar melody and rides that vibe the whole way through. The vocals ride wave that runs parallel to the melody and the lyrics express the ups and downs of life in the underground. We’re always excited to hear a new release from Black Nicholson and he has done it again with this one.

Also of note, this is the first time he has used a photo from his own life for the cover art, with previous releases using vintage photographs from various sources. Perhaps he is presenting himself as this “Corner Store Cowboy”.
