Kid Trails / Sludgepony – “Pandemic”

Kid Trails and Sludgepony are the first South Carolina artists on our radar to release new music inspired by the global Coronavirus pandemic. The track, which is appropriately titled “Pandemic”, is a collaboration between Columbia, SC-based Kid Trails (fronted by Toro y Moi bassist Patrick Jeffords), and South Carolina visual artist and all-around creative Sludgepony.

“Pandemic” is a rock duet with a minimalistic arrangement that keeps things light and simple. The lyrics take a literal approach to the situation, reflecting on the Coronavirus story as it as unfolded over the past few weeks, and how we’ve all be affected. The lyrics are directly about the Coronavirus, social distancing, staying healthy, and of course the cancelled tours and events. “Hope to see you all in 2021”, they sing. We hope it won’t take that long.
