Connor Hollifield – “Call Your Friends”

Connor Hollifield, former SondorBlue guitarist, joins the rest of his former bandmates this morning in releasing music as a solo artist with his new song “Call Your Friends”. Connor says that he wrote this track after a personal period of social distancing that he took in 2019. Now that we’re all doing some of that ourselves, though not exactly by choice, it’s an appropriate time for this release.

“Call Your Friends” is a song about returning to friendships after a period of time to oneself, and calling them up when you haven’t spoken to them in a while. It points out that everyone is going through their own personal struggles. Sometimes we just need a reminder that we’re all in this together.

Connor’s guitar style has always been influenced by classic rock, and that shows on this track with electric guitar that dances behind the otherwise quiet acoustic arrangement. It almost sounds like a stripped-back SondorBlue song, with a few more layers of perspective and experience added that gives it a more grounded feel.
