Drivin N Cryin – Record Stop Sessions

Back in May, Drivin N Cryin played a sold out show on the beach at The Windjammer. The next morning, they were downtown at the fairly new Record Stop location on John Street to film a quick live session featuring a few songs off their newest album, Live the Love Beautiful. The new record was released back in June, and is the first full-length Drivin N Cryin record to be released in nearly a decade.

Leading up to the album release, we interviewed Drivin N Cryin bassist Tim Nielsen at the iconic Pitt Street Pharmacy in the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant. Read that interview here for some in-depth backstory to the new album.

Drivin N Cryin is preparing for their next show in Charleston, which will take place on the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 29th, at the Charleston Music Hall. This is the third year in a row that Drivin N Cryin will take the Music Hall stage the day after Thanksgiving, and this year they’ll be joined by our old buddies Human Resources. Tickets to that show are on sale here.

Watch Drivin N Cryin’s Record Stop Sessions, starting with a Kevn Kinney warmup of his 2004 solo release “In The Land of Plenty”, and then full band renditions of “Step By Step”, “Ian McLagan”, and “Over and Over”, below.
