Turtledoves to Play The Royal American with Mechanical River and spiritcake

Next Monday, September 30th, Turtledoves roll through Charleston from Cincinnati for their Holy City debut at The Royal American, where they’ll be joined by local favorite Mechanical River and spiritcake out of the U.K. For those unfamiliar with Turtledoves, the project is made up of Ashley and Alex McGrath, two former members of the Soil & the Sun, a now-defunct 8-piece band who played several times in Charleston over the years. Ashley and Alex are also part of the indie rock band Carriers, who are fresh off the release of a new album called Now Is The Time For Loving Me, Yourself, & Everyone Else.

Turtledoves has released just one short EP thus far, the aptly-named The Rest Is Yet To Come, and are currently in the process of recording their second release. This show is just $5 at the door. RSVP via the Facebook event here, and listen to The Rest Is Yet To Come below.
