Admiral Radio – “Two Star Motel”

Earlier this week, Charleston folk duo Admiral Radio released a new song called “Two Star Motel”. The duo consists of Becca Smith and Coty Hoover, who were just interviewed for Charleston Scene’s Valentine’s Day article about couples in the art scene. They met while working together at Fuel in downtown Charleston and then they started making music together.

“Two Star Motel” is the first official release from Admiral Radio. It has a vintage folk sound that pairs well with the fact that the band is named after their 1941 Admiral radio. Becca and Coty recorded this one in their house, and then sent it off to James Frolio of Ohm Radio to master it.

If you want to hear more from Admiral Radio, check out their Sofar Sounds Charleston performance of their unreleased track “Drinking and Thinking”. Becca Smith also released a solo album last year called I-26 that could hold you over if you’re itching to hear more.
