Doom Flamingo – “F-16”

You may have heard of Charleston synthwave project Doom Flamingo back in May when they played their first show at the official Umphrey’s McGee and Perpetual Groove afterparty at Omar Shrine Temple. In case you’re wondering how a brand new band was able to land a spot at an official Umphrey’s McGee aftershow, Doom Flamingo features Ryan Stasik of Umphrey’s McGee on bass. That connection has helped them to gain some recognition right off the bat, and now it’s time for their music to speak for itself.

This morning, Doom Flamingo released their first single, “F-16”. The dance-ready track comes just in time for the weekend, and should find itself right at home on your Spotify playlists. There are several more tracks in the pipeline which will all be part of the upcoming Doom Flamingo EP. The next one will be released on Monday, so stay tuned for that.

In addition to the music, Doom Flamingo has also linked up with Toronto artist Jordan Noir to create a graphic novel centered around the band. More details on that to unfold in the future.

Doom Flamingo is locked in to play two more official Umphrey’s McGee afterparties, including October 11th in Charlotte and October 12th in Raleigh. After that they will bring it all home to Charleston for a show at The Pour House with RoboTrio on October 26th.
