Dead 27’s to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Party at the Point

Dead 27s are coming home to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at The Party at the Point. Patriot’s Point will be hosting this year’s Cinco de Mayo Party at the Point with the City Paper’s 2016 Rock Band of the Year who are finishing up a stellar Spring tour back in South Carolina. Dead 27s will be bringing a great mix of original music off their new album Ghosts are Calling Out along with awesome covers of some classics. During their Spring Tour they traveled along side Folly Beach favorite Dangermuffin all over the southeast in support of both their new albums. Crowds saw the pair of bands from Charleston sit in with each other, share original tunes, and continue to work on covers each band has been playing for a while. While Dangermuffin is heading West, Dead 27s are heading home to gear up for their Summer tour on what promises to be a beautiful day. Weather stands at partly cloudy with 10% chance of rain.

Check out their set at Pisgah Brewing Co from around Halloween:

Their recent album was released in September 2016 has been catching wind from a variety of platforms. Ghosts are Calling Out is certainly an ode to their strong Soul ‘n’ Rock roots while showing room for exploration while having some of the best musicians in Charleston. About half the songs on the album traces the 2014 EP Chasing Your Devils Down. The band does a wonderful job of shining attention on each member. Trey Francis is spotless on vocals, showing his range in and out of norm with a variety of tracks. Other tracks allow guitarists Will Evans and Wallace Mullinax, drummer Daniel Crider, and bass guitarist Oliver Goldstein to venture out into funk psychedelia which is a new and fresh sound for the band. Extra Chill will be doing an full review of the album in lieu of their July 14 show at The Windjammer. You can grab tickets at the door!

Plenty of local fans are excited for Charleston’s premier Rock ‘n’ Soul band to return home. They will be playing with The Trongone Band who flirts with soulful rock and Americana Jam. At the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, Party at The Point has the boat to show option with food and drinks inside the venue. There will be no outside coolers allowed at the show.
