This morning, new Coast Records artist Mouth Sounds premiered their debut single “In The Night” via Huffington Post. Mouth Sounds is a project started by Daniel Howe, former frontman in beloved Charlotte-based indie rock band Sugar Glyder. The band had a ten year run and finally called it quits in 2013, but this new project is something that both the fans that have been around since Sugar Glyder and newcomers to Daniel’s music can enjoy.
Mouth Sounds has a real indie-pop feel to it that I think makes it perfect for radio airplay, so you’ll probably start hearing Daniel’s voice during your drive to work before long. It’s a bit of a switch in genre from Sugar Glyder’s sound, but I think a sonic change is necessary when starting a new project, but longtime Sugar Glyder fans can find solace in the familiar vocals, while at the same time enjoying a fresh sound.
