Motown Mondays at The Commodore: Willy Soul Spins the Funk Every Monday Night

Update 3/10/20: This post is outdated. Check out our Charleston concert calendar to see what’s going on in Charleston tonight.

For anyone looking for something funky to do on Monday nights in Charleston, look no further. Your friendly neighborhood converted jazz club, The Commodore, hosts a weekly event called Motown Mondays. The Commodore is one of the coolest new venues in town, and given that they were built on a foundation of funk and jazz, Motown Mondays is the perfect weekly event to fit their vibe. Motown Mondays features resident DJ Willy Soul spinning funk, disco, and hip-hop with a bit of house music sprinkled in. We’re talking music from the likes of Michael Jackson, Parliament, Funkadelic, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Dr. Dre, Nas, and many more. An opportunity such as this calls for you to put on your dancing shoes and head on down to The Commodore ready to party. Willy Soul starts spinning at 9pm, and doesn’t stop til around midnight. Best of all, admission is free. See you there every Monday night, tonight included!
